National Pet Month: Donating Supplies to Dogs in Need
Hi there friends!
I earned an additional $20 this month doing online surveys, so I made roughly $60 for the month of April!
It was my goal to complete the National Pet Month savings challenge by May. I decided to roll the entire $20 to the challenge, and pick up the other challenges next month.
Savings Challenge #2
Finding a Donation Location
I was somewhat surprised how difficult it was to find a place to donate new dog food and supplies. Many of the nearby animal shelters have corporate sponsors donating pallets of food on a monthly basis. Hence why most of the shelters requested monetary donations over goods.
After a few days of online searches, I decided to donate to a local food bank serving low-income and homeless populations around the valley.
I purchased dog food pouches and small bags of dog treats that can easily fit into a backpack and taken on public transit. Total for the order was $51.05 (including tax). The $50 National Pet Month Savings Challenge covered most of it and I got $7 awarded to my cash-back / rewards app.
This was such a fun way to use my survey earnings to give back to my community. I hope you consider doing the survey challenge this month and donate what you can to a local animal shelter in your area.
If you like this type of savings challenge, let me know in the comments below. I'm thinking about doing something similar in the near future, I'll keep you posted!
